| Nowadays, traditional Turkish handicrafts and decoration arts are known and executed by a limited number of artists. These handicrafts are very much demanded by tourists and foreign collectors, who are investing important amounts of money on these arts. This demand is an indicator of the employment opportunities on these domains.
The objective of this project is to raise awareness of unemployed people on these arts, to train them in order to develop their skills and to restructure their competence and talent. Participants will have the opportunity to be trained in one of the following 7 arts: Art of calligraphy, Miniatures, Art of Marbling, Art of tiles and ceramics, glasswork, Art of dolls and fabric painting.
In addition to the art course, the participants will be able to follow additional lessons such as English, business management and entrepreneurship, sales & marketing, interview techniques, art of public speaking, organisation methods of expositions, and techniques of collection presentation. As a result, at the end of the project, after receiving a well-rounded education, the participants will be able to integrate art and entrepreneurship.
Our target groups are vulnerable groups such as unemployed youths, women, disabled people and long term unemployed people registered with ISKUR. 15 participants will be accepted for each one of the 7 above-mentioned art courses. As a result, 105 participants will directly benefit from this project. a quota of 7 people, out of 105, will be reserved for disabled people.
