 REGULATION ON INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE and INTERNATIONAL VEHICLE DOCUMENT In addition to the previous safety precautions, as of 01.01.2007, “hot laminated covering” implementation was put in practice with respect to International Driving Licenses and Vehicle Documents.

REGULATION ON INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE The sales of A series of International Driving Licenses has been ceased as of 15.11.2006. The new edition of documents was drawn up as series B. Furthermore, some improvements were made within the color and paper quality of document and the signature of our new Chairman of Board of Directors was used on front cover. REGULATION ON INTERNATIONAL VEHICLE DOCUMENT The sales of former edition of International Vehicle Document has been ceased as of 15.11.2006. Some alterations that don’t exist on the former document are included on the cover of documents which are currently in use. And also, starting from the same date, security hologram and embossed stamp implementations was put in practice with respect of this document. Toll booths will accept only OGS (Remote payment system) and KGS (Toll pay system with special magnetic cards) at the Bosphorus Bridge. Cash payments will be accepted only at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.

This document is readily obtainable on production of an original driving license issued by any country in the world and accompanied by two recent photographs. The fee is: 225,00 YTL.

However, since the International Driving Licence can be issued only for a period of one year, the original driving license produced must be valid for at least one year on the date of demand.

For driving licenses in foreign languages, translation is required from consulates or embassies.

International driving licenses are not valid in the country they are issued in.
Note 1: According to the financial legislation of the state, fees for International Driving Licenses are re-determined at the beginning of each year. Also, according to the same legislation, the stamp fee is reduced in cases where the applicant is applying for an International Driving License for the second time. In order to benefit from this reduction the expired International Driving License should be returned to the Association, together with the applicant’s original driving license valid for at least one year and two recent photographs). The fee is: 129,90 YTL.

Note 2: International Driving Licenses are valid in most countries that have approved the agreement on this issue. The only condition for obtaining an International Driving License is to be a tourist in that country and not to be a permanent resident.
